Crop Insurance Technology Tools Lighten the Load for Producers
Crop and livestock producers can’t control weather, markets and trade policy, however, they can control their crop insurance experience with useful technology tools.
“We’re pleased to offer policyholders a suite of tools that streamline and simplify the crop insurance decision-making, reporting and claims signature processes,” says Billy Meade, RCIS National Technology and Strategy Manager.
“RCIS is known in the industry for providing excellent service to both producers and crop insurance agents,” he says. “These high-tech solutions are an extension of our commitment to offering our agents and policyholders the very best experience possible.”
Preparing for the season
As producers plan for the upcoming growing season, they‘re able to take advantage of state-of-the-art RCIS tools.
• Online Electronic Documents
Producers and crop insurance agents can access electronic documents anywhere from their computers and mobile devices. Documents are stored in their electronic file cabinet, which helps reduce paperwork.
• eSignature and Digital Signature
Working with crop insurance agents, policyholders can complete and sign forms electronically, saving time, mileage and more.
• Precision Ag
Policyholders can share their precision ag data with agents for crop insurance reporting purposes by uploading it through the RCIS portal, where it’s formatted for reporting. The system is easy-to-use, intuitive and compatible with nearly 30 precision farming vendor platforms. Uploading raw data improves accuracy and saves time during busy reporting seasons.
Managing ag operations
Every RCIS policyholder has access to their own online account where they can view bills and make payments as needed.
Producers can elect to receive bills electronically, which is faster and more secure than using traditional mail. An email alerts producers when their bill is ready to view and pay.
• Online Payments
RCIS policyholders have the option to pay crop insurance bills online around the clock. Payments post within two business days.
• FarmMaps℠ Web
This RCIS web-based mapping service provides a visual representation of producers’ fields and FSA data. It can be accessed through the RCIS website anytime, anywhere, on desktop and mobile devices, and maps can be printed out as needed. Policyholders can use the mapping tool throughout the insurance cycle.
Valuable and convenient
RCIS also offers a full suite of electronic tools for crop insurance agents.
“The feedback we’re getting from both producers and agents is that these high-tech tools are a game-changer in terms of saving time,” says Meade.
“We’ve had agents and policyholders tell us that these are easier to use than any similar tools in the marketplace.”
